Description:

As a bridal shop owner, Mikayla Martin helps make women’s wedding dreams come true.  Her own life, however, has become a nightmare since she witnessed a murder—and got an up-close-and-personal look at the killer.  What’s worse: She knows she knows him.  But the police, after doing an alibi check, don’t believe her.  It’s up to Mikayla to prove them wrong…and do whatever it takes to solve the murder by herself.

Elite Ops agent Nikolai Steele, code name Renegade, is asked to pay an old comrade a favor.  This friend swears he’s no killer—and Nik believes him—even though he’s been mistaken as one by Mikayla.  So Nik goes to set her straight…but the moment he lays eyes on the fiery and determined beauty, he knows he’s in too deep.  A woman this irresistible can only mean trouble and, sure enough, after sticking her nose in one too many places, someone wants Mikayla dead.  Now Nik must find a way to keep her safe, clear his friend’s name, and find the real killer, who remains on the loose…

My Review:

Nik is in between a rock and a hard place, he believes both his friend and Mikayla and what is worse is that he wants Mikayla, he has wanted her since the first time he saw her.  Nik wanted to fulfill his favor and leave, nothing in between, however destiny had other plans.

Everyone likes Mikayla, she is very much the virgin girl next door, she dates a lot but that is how far it goes.  Her family is very protective of her and quit their jobs when she told them what she saw.  She knows she isn’t wrong and whats worse only her family believes her.

When Nik was getting ready to leave someone shot at her.  Changing his plans, he moves in with her to protect her.  As they dig for answers, the attempts on her life increases and the restraint Nik had falters.

Nik did not want passion he did not want anything more than he could give and that was not much.  Mikayla wanted him but knew she could never have him completely and that was fine with her, she would take what she could.  Hot, steamy sex filled mixed with action had me gripping the pages.

My Rating:
