Ousted from her world.  Pursued by a Police Detective for crimes against men, her prospects of mortal love look bleak.  That is, until she finds the one man strong enough to survive her. But he's the one chasing her, and he harbors a dark secret of his own.  Can they survive each other or will their secrets destroy them both?

My Review:

Azra is a succubus who wants nothing more than to be in love, something that is forbidden in her world.  Each time she wants something more but of course, fails to do so by taking the life of the man.

Raif Lungren a police detective has been investigation strange deaths of men all seem to die of organ failure right after having sex.  Finally, the police are lead to Azra.  Even though they have no proof of her being a murder, even the surveillance tape reveals someone else leaving the hotel rooms they still see her going in.

Intrigued by each other, they could not help but find each other.  For the first time having sex with a man did not lead to death but lead to something else.  It appears Raif was hiding his own secrets.

Ellison James was kind enough to send me a copy of Lovestruck Succubus for review.  Thank you for the chance to read Lovestruck Succubus and your work!

I enjoyed reading Lovestruck Succubus and I cannot wait to see if any more is written about Azra and Raif or any of the other characters that is in this world.  Hot sexual scenes, left your mouth watering and so did the intensity.

Review: Moon Sworn, Keri Arthur

Title: Moon Sworn
Author: Keri Arthur
Series: A Riley Jenson Guardian Novel
Mass Market Paperback: 432 Pages
Publisher: Dell
Release Date: 5/25/2010
ISBN: 978-0440245711

Description:

Some nights never end.

Some desires never die….

She ventures where no one else dares—into realms of peril and pleasure. But will this next journey be her last?

Shape-shifting werewolf and vampire Riley Jenson is through with death–causing it, solving it, surviving it. Her soul mate, Kye Murphy, is dead–and at Riley’s own hands. Not even the seductive embrace of her vampire lover, Quinn, can fully ease her mind, for she has begun questioning everything that makes her Riley–including her job at the Directorate.

Now, the ritualistically slain bodies of ex-cons have started turning up. Reluctantly, Riley takes the case, but something even worse is waiting in the wings. For a vicious enemy from her past is determined to strip Riley of everything that gives her life any meaning: her lover, her brother–and even her own identity. Can Riley survive this ultimate assault? All she knows is, she must fight one last time to find answers, before everything goes dark forever…

My Review:

Riley is mourning her soul mate Kye's death at her own hands, and the death of her friend Kade. She starts to realize her dream of having a family and leaving the violent life of a Guardian behind. Then there are the changes to her body because of a drug that was given to her.

A killer is at work leaving slain bodies of ex-cons around, Riley is back on the job. But an enemy from her past is apparently clear on making her life a living hell.  Her life will never be the same and now she risks losing everything.

Although I was happy with the ending of the series Moon Sworn, confused me at parts and for some reason I just could not get into the story.  With Moon Sworn being the last in the series, it had me crying out for more of Riley and Quinn.

Review: Captive Spirit, Anna Windsor

Title: Captive Spirit
Author: Anna Windsor
Series: Dark Crescent Sisterhood
Mass Market Paperback: 352 Pages
Publisher: Zebra
Release Date: 12/01/2010
ISBN: 978-1420111354

Description:

Saving humanity from the supernatural has been challenging lately—even for a well-trained earth Sybil like Bela Argos, who must harness the magic of a fractious group of warrior sisters and battle a new wave of paranormal attacks.  Another challenge is Duncan Sharp, the hunky NYPD detective who might turn into a demon overnight and devour Bela in her sleep. Still, the darkness taking over Duncan’s body can’t stop the molten heat unleashed by the intense attraction between them.

Duncan has two major problems: First, he has the soul of a suspected serial killer hitching a ride on his vibe. Worse (yes, worse) he’s got a demonic fever raging inside that promises a world of hurt for everybody, especially Bela.  Now he’s all about getting even with the demons that put this freak curse in his blood—satanic forces that dare to unleash their savage lust on Duncan’s soul, his city, and the woman he loves.

My Review:

Bella is reeling from the tragedy of losing people that she was close to during the Legion attack.  Pulling together with others that also lost ones that they loved, who might hold her responsible for the deaths.  Bela and Duncan were together while Duncan recovered from his own attack.

Duncan at first thought Bela was an angel but soon finds out that he would give the remaining days of his life to her.  With the help of his friend John who died that night and who is now in his body they work together and with the triad to solve the murder of an heiress.  Duncan realizes that Bela is the woman of his dreams and Bela would protect Duncan for as long as she could.

Even though Duncan and Bela knows that he will not have that long to live it did not stop their passion or their love

Review: Devoured by Darkness, Alexandra Ivy

Title: Devoured by Darkness
Author: Alexandra Ivy
Series: Guardians of Eternity
Mass Market Paperback: 352 Pages
Publisher: Zebra
Release Date: 12/01/2010
ISBN: 978-1420111354

Description:

Tane is a Charon, sworn to hunt and kill rogue vampires.  His new assignment seems like a waste of his talents - until he catches up with the jinn he's been sent to capture. Half human, half demon, Laylah has a vulnerable streak that strikes right through to Tane's cold heart.  He should be furious when she uses her powers to bind them together, preventing him from dragging her before the Commission.  Instead he welcomes any reason to stay close enough to touch, to taste, to seduce...

Laylah doesn't know why she was chosen to protect a child who may be the catalyst in a war between good and evil.  But the mysteries of her past pale compared to the dangers approaching.  Tane is devastatingly strong, breathtakingly sensual.  And Laylah will have to trust in every ounce of that strength, because her enemies are drawing near, eager to destroy them both...

My Review:

Laylah was being followed, finally tired of running she challenges the vampire that was following her to show himself, with that Tane appeared.  Tane was following the half-breed knowing that Laylah was trying to protect something or someone, a child, not her child but a child no less.  Instant attraction happened between Tane and Laylah but Tane was a vampire and Laylah was a half-breed that should not exist, it is forbidden.

Tane did not turn Laylah over to the commission instead they had an adventure.  Lost mother, evil aunt, saving a child, running from the commission, Laylah has her hands full not to mention the gargle, Levet, who always makes me laugh.

I like this story at the end it tended to confuse me a bit.  Nevertheless, it had me hooked from the first page to the last.  I loved Laylah she was not what half-breeds were defined.  She was a fighter and strong willed.  Tane is protective, gorgeous, and seethes sexuality.  Also, I loved revisiting some of the other characters throughout the series.
